A $14 million police station has opened in Parkes to improve community safety and modernise resources to frontline police.
The new 24 hour station will allow police officers to continue to drive down crime across the Lachlan Local Command Area.
Minister for Police and Emergency Services Michael Gallacher said the most recent data showed that across the NSW Central West all 17 of major offences reported were either trending down or stable.
“In the two years to September 2013, reported assaults were down nine per cent while malicious property damage was down seven per cent.”
