Announcing the social enterprises receiving outcomes-based funding to advance economic wellbeing of women
The Office of Social Impact Investment (OSII) is delighted to announce the five social enterprises funded under Payment-by-Results contracts to support women facing disadvantage.
The NSW Government, through the Department of Education and OSII, has partnered with five job-focused social enterprises to advance the economic wellbeing of women who face increased barriers to economic security, independence and workforce participation. Through Payment-By-Results contracts, the social enterprises are expected to support around 650 women in New South Wales to achieve sustained employment or start their own business.
After an open and competitive selection process, five social enterprises have been selected to support women over the next two to four years:
-
Global Sisters supporting single mothers start their own business
-
Scriibed supporting women who are victim survivors of domestic and family abuse into technology enabled flexible work
-
Success Works Partners supporting women with experience of the justice system gain employment
-
The Bread and Butter Project supporting women who are refugees with training and skills into baking careers
-
yourtown supporting young women (aged 16-24 years) who are long-term unemployed with paid experience in their social enterprise.
This initiative was designed to deliver on the priorities in Social Impact Investment Policy 2.0: Growing our impact by building a more diverse impact investing ecosystem and adapting the outcomes-based funding approach for social enterprises at different stages of the innovation cycle.
