Since 1933, the United Hospital Auxiliaries of NSW Inc. (UHA) branches have fundraised continuously for patient comfort and care for health facilities within their communities.
With over 5500 volunteer members, 190 affiliated branches in 12 regions, these dedicated volunteers raise funds which are used to purchase much needed items on the facilities wish list and medical equipment, as well as items that are used for all general health care needs.
Branches fundraise through Gift shops, Op-Shops, Raffles, Kiosks, fashion shows, market days and many other exciting events throughout the year. All funds raised by each branch are retained by that branch for their own community Health Service.
In the 2016-17 Financial Year volunteers raised $5.89 million net and gifted over $5.4 million in equipment to NSW health facilities. These amazing volunteers also contributed almost one million hours of volunteer service (this is the equivalent of 506 full-time staff) to support their local health service in the fund-raising efforts.
Those interested in volunteering with this wonderful charity can do so by contacting their local branch.
A list of branches by region and their contact details can be found on the UHA website.
