Advice to non-government schools regarding 2019 annual reports
All non-government schools are required to produce, publicly disclose and submit electronically to NESA a 2019 annual report by 30 June 2020.
- Effective
- Immediately
- Reference
- NESA 5/20
Who needs to read this?
- Principals of non-government schools
- Representatives of non-government school registration systems
Submission of annual reports is via NESA’s registration website RANGS Online.
Annual reporting requirements are detailed in section 3.10.1 of the Registered and Accredited Individual Non-government Schools (NSW) Manual and section 5.10.1 of the Registration Systems and Member Non-government Schools (NSW) Manual.
NESA’s review of the annual reports submitted in 2019 found that the following areas commonly required improvement:
- providing the full text (or a link to the full text) of the school’s enrolment policies, including all prerequisites for continuing enrolment
- providing a summary of the school’s anti-bullying policy
- providing student attendance rates for the whole school as well as each Year level
- commenting on the achievement of priority areas for improvement as selected by the school for the previous year.
Schools should consider these areas for improvement in finalising their reports for the 2019 school year.
