Online application forms for TAA approval are available on RANGS Online. For assistance accessing RANGS Online, please call the School Registration and Accreditation Directorate on (02) 9367 8432.
The requirements and processes for approval as a TAA under the Teacher Accreditation Act 2004 are detailed in the Guidelines for the Regulation of Teacher Accreditation Authorities for Non-government Schools and Early Childhood Education Centres (‘the TAA guidelines’).
Background
On 1 January 2016, a new regulatory framework for approving TAAs for non-government schools and early childhood education centres became effective.
Under transition arrangements, non-government schools seeking initial or renewed registration to commence from 1 January 2019 are required to have a TAA approved under the new framework.
The TAA Guidelines can be downloaded from the Teacher Accreditation Authorities section of the NESA website, where you can also find:
Where possible, the inspection process for TAA approval and non-government school registration will be integrated.
The breadth and depth of supporting materials to be provided by a TAA as part of an application and during inspection will vary according to a risk assessment.
