Applications for approval as a Teacher Accreditation Authority (TAA) are due by Wednesday 31 March 2021 for:
- TAAs seeking renewal of approval where approval expires at the end of 2021
- new TAAs of proposed non-government schools seeking to begin operating in 2022 or early childhood education centres.
Online application forms for TAA approval are available on RANGS Online.
For assistance accessing RANGS Online, please call the School Registration and Accreditation Directorate on 02 9367 8866.
The requirements and processes for approval as a TAA under the Teacher Accreditation Act 2004 are detailed in the Guidelines for the Regulation of Teacher Accreditation Authorities for Non-government Schools and Early Childhood Education Centres (‘the TAA guidelines’).
The TAA Guidelines can be downloaded from the Teacher Accreditation Authorities section of the NESA website, where you can also find a self-audit checklist to assist TAAs.
The school registration and TAA renewal processes are risk based and integrated, where possible. The supporting materials to be provided by a TAA as part of an application and during inspection will vary according to a risk assessment.
