Indonesian Extension Stage 6 and Korean Continuers Stage 6 are at risk of discontinuation in 2026 due to their very low candidature in 2022 and 2023.
NESA has identified that the Korean Continuers and Indonesian Extension Stage 6 courses are at risk of discontinuation due to low HSC candidature in 2022 and 2023.
It is NESA policy that courses with HSC candidature below 15 in 3 consecutive years be subject to a discontinuation process.
If HSC candidature falls below 15 students in 2024 for the Continuers and the Extension courses in 2025, NESA will discontinue these courses following the 2026 HSC exams. If course numbers increase above 15, the discontinuation process will pause.
NESA may reactivate a course if documented evidence on its sustainability and viability is provided.
Updates about the discontinuation of these courses will be provided in future official notices and published in NESA News.
