Classic dog names have continued to dominate the list, including Bella in first place, Max in second and Molly third.
Top 10 dog names in NSW
The top 10 were shortlisted from an analysis of nearly one and half million dogs on the NSW Pet Registry.
Each year over 5000 cats and dogs are reported lost across NSW. Pet owners are being encouraged to register their dog on the NSW Pet Registry.
The registry allows you to update your contact details, report your pet missing, change ownership details and pay the lifetime registration and annual permit fee (if applicable).
Pet registration fees go straight back into the community by funding council animal shelters, ranger services, dog recreation areas, and education and awareness activities.
The NSW Government offers half-price registration fees for dogs adopted from any rescue shelter. Visit an RSPCA shelter, a council pound, or one of the many approved rehoming organisations across the state to rescue an animal in desperate need of a home.
