Community members are encouraged to recognise a frontline emergency service worker who goes above and beyond the call of duty by nominating them in the annual Rotary Clubs and Districts of NSW Emergency Services Community Awards (NSW RESCA).
Now in its eighth year, the awards recognise the dedication and service of emergency service personnel and volunteers from the following organisations:
- Fire and Rescue NSW,
- NSW Rural Fire Service,
- Marine Rescue NSW,
- NSW Ambulance,
- NSW State Emergency Service,
- Surf Life Saving NSW, and
- Volunteer Rescue Association NSW.
Emergency Services, Resilience, and Flood Recovery Minister Steph Cooke said the awards are an opportunity to recognise emergency services personnel involved in the recent flood emergency.
“The unprecedented storms and floods have resulted in one of the most challenging times our emergency services have ever faced,” Ms Cooke said.
“Emergency services personnel are not only first responders during times of crisis, but they also carry out important work year-round, including community engagement and fundraising.”
Nominations close Tuesday, 31 May 2022.
