Theatre fellowships puts spotlight on artist development
Budding NSW artists and practitioners can develop new works under two theatre fellowship programs offered by the Griffin Theatre Company and Hayes Theatre Co.

The NSW Government is partnering with the two renowned companies to deliver the two fellowships valued at $80,000. They include:
- The $50,000 Incubator Fellowship, where up to four early career theatre practitioners receive a three month residency and professional mentorship, while they develop a new work at the Griffin Theatre Company.
- The $30,000 NSW Musical Theatre Fellowship is for a composer, musical director and/or creative team to research and develop a new work of musical theatre with the support and mentorship of Hayes Theatre Co.
Arts Minister Don Harwin said the fellowships provide opportunities for NSW artists to produce and stage world-class productions for audiences.
“We are partnering with two of NSW’s most accomplished and successful theatre companies to ensure NSW continues to develop world-class talent and deliver exciting new theatre for audiences across the state,” Mr Harwin said.
Applications for the theatre fellowships close at 5pm, Friday 16 September 2021. Go to Create NSW for more information.
