"It's in the Bag" donation for Maternity Unit at BH Hospital
Mums and bubs needing a little bit of extra support this Christmas will benefit from an ‘It’s In The Bag’ donation to the Maternity Unit at Broken Hill Health Service.
The ‘It’s in the Bag’ Christmas appeal run by the Share the Dignity organisation, collects donations of everyday essential items, and maybe some everyday luxuries, to donate to someone in need for Christmas. They are sorted into Adult, Teen and Mum and Bub bags.
Share the Dignity recently delivered a large donation to a Broken Hill charitable organisation, Feeding Friends, which included Mum and Bub bags.
Mrs Amanda Murray and daughter Leni helped facilitate the donation getting to the Maternity Unit. They have previously been involved in Share the Dignity donations.
“The bags have new items for mum and bubs, to help people who may be in need this time of year,” said Amanda.
“What people (across NSW) have donated is amazing,” she said. “We are very grateful to all donors and to be able to help these donations get to recipients through the Maternity Unit.”
Maternity Unit Manager, Megan Ritchie, said the health service was very grateful for the generous donation.
“We feel very honoured we are able to help the women and families of Broken Hill and Far West. The donations are valuable gifts that I’m sure will be appreciated,” she said.
