BH Palliative Care Volunteer Team recognised
The Broken Hill Palliative Care Volunteer Team has been recognised in the NSW Volunteer Team of the Year category in the Centre for Volunteering regional ceremony.
The Centre for Volunteering Regional Ceremony was held in Broken Hill on 19 October 2023 at the Musicians Club.
The Palliative Care Volunteers were recognised and acknowledged for contributing their time, and sharing their skills to provide compassionate and person centred volunteer services to palliative patients and carers receiving Specialist Palliative Care.

The volunteers bring an aspect of ‘normal’ with them when they visit patients, their families and carers. They know when to talk, when to listen, and when to ‘be there’ in silence.
The Far West Local Health District expresses its congratulations to all the volunteers in the team.
