Speed limits and cameras

Speed limits help keep NSW roads safe. Speed cameras are used to enforce these limits, reducing the risk and severity of crashes.

Speed limits

Speeding is the number one killer on NSW roads. Following these rules will help keep you, and others, safe on our roads.

Fixed and mobile speed cameras

Fixed speed cameras are used in high-risk locations such as tunnels or in areas with a history of severe crashes. Mobile speed cameras work like fixed speed cameras, however, they are moved from location to location in a vehicle.

Red-light speed cameras

Red-light speed cameras are installed at high-risk intersections to help reduce crashes. They record when a vehicle speeds or runs a red light.

Speed camera locations

Find the current location of speed cameras and suggest where speed cameras should be installed.
