Individual non-government schools
Over the coming few weeks, NESA Inspectors will contact schools to discuss the 2024 renewal process and provide information about the online renewal application form to be completed and submitted.
Schools intending to add new Year(s) of schooling, boarding and/or distance education will be able to apply in the school’s renewal application form.
Registration Systems’ member non-government schools
Registration Systems will submit online renewal application forms on behalf of member schools.
Expanding school operations
For schools not renewing registration/accreditation but intending to apply for initial registration/accreditation of new Year(s) of schooling or add boarding or distance education for the first time, an online application form will be available for schools by the end of 2023 in their RANGS Online account.
Proposed new schools
An online application form will be made available through a RANGS Online account following NESA’s New School Briefing day in November 2023. To register your interest, please call Regulation of Schooling on (02) 9367 8866.
Amended registration manuals
In September 2023, NESA published amended registration manuals for schools with support materials. Read about the review and school registration reform.
The requirements for registration and accreditation are detailed in the NSW Registered and Accredited Individual Non-government Schools Manual (PDF 896.22KB)(September 2023) and the NSW Registration Systems and Member Non-government Schools Manual (PDF 956.13KB) (September 2023).
The amended manuals take effect from 1 January 2024.
Applications submitted to NESA seeking initial registration/accreditation, or to add boarding or distance education to the school’s operation from 2025 must comply with the Manual (September 2023) requirements.
