How the transition arrangements apply
If your current maintenance period started on or before 29 November 2020, the information on this page applies to you.
Proficient Teachers
If you have not completed your 100 hours of PD, you must complete:
- a minimum 1 NESA Accredited PD course in a mandatory priority area
- any remaining PD hours to meet the requirements and guidelines for Elective PD.
NESA encourages you to complete NESA Accredited PD as it becomes available.
Highly Accomplished and Lead Teachers
If you have not completed your 100 hours of PD, you must complete:
- a minimum 1 NESA Accredited PD course in a mandatory priority area
- at least 20 hours of professional commitment activities
- any remaining PD hours to meet the requirements and guidelines for Elective PD.
NESA encourages you to complete NESA Accredited PD as it becomes available. You will need to ensure your PD aligns to the Standard Descriptors at Highly Accomplished or Lead Teacher.
Recognition of professional growth during COVID-19
We’ve credited up to 10 hours of NESA Accredited PD to all teachers who actively maintained accreditation during 2021 and 2022.
The PD hours appear in your eTAMS PD Progress Report as either:
- Consolidating and Extending Teaching During COVID-19, for Proficient Teachers.
- Assisting Colleagues to Consolidate and Extend Teaching During COVID-19, for Highly Accomplished Teachers.
- Leading Initiatives to Consolidate and Extend Teaching During COVID-19, for Lead Teachers.
