Every day in our District, 10 babies are born.
As a midwife working in our Western NSW communities, you'll access a broad range of opportunities from a level 4 multi-model maternity service to smaller sites, where you really get to experience the journey with your clients.
You'll get the chance to experience:
- antenatal care

- Aboriginal maternal infant health service
- community midwifery
Several facilities can manage complex pregnancies, so you'll experience and manage a broad range of pregnancy presentations.
A great place to live and work
Our region is so diverse, there's something for everyone. You can create a lifestyle where you live your best life, focusing on the things that really matter to you.
Learn about the Western NSW region and unique lifestyle.
Due to the depth of our maternity services, our LHD is a great place to grow your midwifery career.
Wherever you choose to work within our LHD, you'lll be well connected within the maternity service as a whole, with support from our Clinical Midwife Specialists, Clinical Midwife Educators, Clinical Midwife Consultants as well as your colleagues.
The majority of our facilities are less than 10 years old, so you can practice using the most up-to-date methods supported by modern equipment.
Our midwife team is vibrant and supportive of each other. Continuing education and possible exchange with tertiary facilities, with a focus on tertiary evidence based education is all part of the offer. This training and exposure to such a wide range of presentations will broaden your scope much faster than staying in the city.
Add this to the lifestyle and economic benefits of regional and rural living and you’ve got an opportunity to live your best life.
We offer a range of pregnancy, birth and baby services to meet the unique needs of our regional communities. View the services offered at each facility:
