NSW Regional Communities Development Fund

The Regional Communities Development Fund is part of the government’s $1.7 billion Regional Growth Fund to support growing regional centres, activate local economies and improve services.

Purpose of funds

The Regional Communities Development Fund is designed to identify and support projects that:

  • demonstrate high levels of community support
  • deliver social, economic, environmental or cultural benefits to communities in regional NSW
  • have not been successful through other Regional Growth Fund or Restart NSW Fund programs.

The fund supports capital projects involving the construction of new infrastructure, or the upgrade, refurbishment or extension of existing infrastructure.

Eligible projects

Projects must be nominated by the Deputy Premier, in his capacity as Minister for Regional NSW, the Minister for Western NSW, Minister for Regional Youth and the Minister for Regional Roads and Transport.

Nominations open 9am Monday 29 July 2019
Nominations close 5pm Friday 16 August 2019
Applications open 9am Monday 26 August 2019
Applications close 5pm Monday 13 September 2019
Project assessments September/October 2019
Approval and announcement November 2019
