How to join
To explore joining the OneCX Program, contact your portfolio lead (usually a director) in the first instance.
How we agree agency readiness
Websites are added to the OneCX Program roadmap by agreement with portfolio leads.
We hold quarterly meetings with them to:
- prioritise sites for the roadmap
- understand the readiness of agencies.
How we prioritise the roadmap
When we're deciding which websites to migrate first, we consider 4 factors.
We consider:
Impact on communities and businesses
Our primary focus is on improving digital information and access to services for the people and businesses of NSW. We recognise the importance of digital services in their daily lives and their interactions with government platforms.
We look at factors such as:
- uplift opportunity for customer experience, content quality, readability
- website traffic
- whether the content serves diverse communities
- content alignment to user needs
- opportunities to reduce existing pain points.

Aligning with the NSW Government's priorities
We closely align our work with the NSW Government's focus areas, policy commitments, and time-critical initiatives – such as cost-of-living and housing priorities.
Our approach supports government commitments to inclusive digital experiences, responsible artificial intelligence, data-driven decision-making, and robust cybersecurity safeguards, while remaining mindful of time pressures and cost efficiencies.
Meeting agency needs
We're also making sure to meet the specific needs of government agencies. We aim to provide tools and solutions that help them serve the public better.
We take into account agency campaigns and opportunities for risk reduction and innovation that can be used by other agencies.
Website complexity and team capacity
We also consider the different complexities of websites.
With agency input, we carry out an initial audit of your site, which includes:
- content assessment – partnering with the Data Analytics Centre to identify the size and complexity of the site
- technical assessment – understanding the technical requirements for the website
- content readiness – preparing agencies to review content before migration
- privacy assessment – identifying key forms requiring Privacy Impact Assessments
- agency readiness – understanding which stakeholders to engage, which leaders to consult and who should have final sign off
- other considerations – knowing the technical or security complexities, and contractual or portfolio requirements, all of which may affect priority or readiness.
We review the OneCX Program's capacity as well, to ensure our teams can achieve what we set out to do within specific timeframes.
