Event information
Biennial Quilt Exhibition is a celebration of the art and craft of quilting. Patchwork quilts are made up of pieces of fabric that are sewn together to create a larger design.
The pieces of fabric can be any size or shape, and they can be made from Cotton or Batik Fabric.
Quilters use a variety of techniques for their projects like hand or machine, adding lace or embroidery resulting in each quilt being unique.
Port Stephens Community Arts Centre’s Quilt show will showcase creativity and innovation by pushing the boundaries of traditional quilting techniques. Quilters use unconventional materials, experiment with diverse designs, and incorporate new technologies, reflecting their innovative spirit.
Quilting master pieces often taking a year to complete. The quilt exhibition will contain a variety of items covering all bed sizes, throws, knee quilts, table runners, postcards, bags and the all-time favourite category Bag Lotto.
