Book your child in for a Dental Health Check!
There's no better time than now to book your child in for a dental check at the Community Health Centre - we currently don't have a waiting list! The free dental service is available for all children aged under 18.
'There are distinct advantages for early detection and management of oral health issues, especially as these flow on to later life,' said Andrew Somerville, Oral Health Therapist, Broken Hill Public Dental Service.
During a dental check, all the patient's teeth will firstly be counted and examined. It is then determined whether further treatment will be required. If further treatment is required, it will be discussed with the patient's parents or guardian and a follow up appointment will be made.
Once you have completed your dental check-up and treatment, we recommend regular dental appointments to maintain your oral health.
You can only book an appointment by calling +61 1300 553 626. Please have Medicare and concession card details available when you call. The clinic will close after 13 December 2019 for the Christmas/New Year holiday break and reopen on 6 January 2020.
Since the clinic opened in the new BH Community Health Centre (2-4 Sulphide Street), over 1,361 children have attended. They are seen by NSW Health Oral Health Therapist and dental assistants, who provide treatment and care of all child dental patients.
'We encourage parents to call the oral health number to book their kids in for an oral health check and now is the ideal time!'
