Temora Health Service

Health service with 24-hour accident and emergency, and both hospital care and maternity care beds. Temora District Hospital provides general ward, surgical, obstetrics, pathology, and radiology services.

The main entry point to the Temora Hospital. Two white brick walls flank the main driveway. The left white wall has 'Temora' lettered in black, the right white wall has 'Hospital' lettered in black. Each wall also features a red diamond-shaped sign that says 'Entrance Only'. The driveway leads up the main hospital building.

Our services

Temora community health services include community nursing, domestic violence counselling, physiotherapy, mental health and transitional aged care. Additional services provided by visiting staff include speech pathology, dietetics, dental and occupational therapy. 

Location 

Temora is a large country town located in the north east of the Riverina region of New South Wales.  Temora is known as a friendly rural community providing a comprehensive range of services and amenities for residents. Offering a comfortable, affordable and relaxed lifestyle, Temora provides the perfect base for family, business and social interests. 

With a population of just under 4,000 Temora offers a range of education options including two primary schools, a public high school and a catholic school (up to year 10).  

An extensive range of sporting options are available in Temora including AFL, rugby league, rugby union, netball, basketball, polocrosse, cricket, golf, tennis, lawn bowls, greyhound racing, little athletics, motorcycle racing and pony club. Lake Centenary includes a 2.7km walking track around the lake.  Water skiing, jet boating, fishing, kayaking and swimming are popular activities. The aviation museum is now home to a world class flying collection of Australian ex-military aircraft.

Getting there 

Temora is about 1 hour north of Wagga Wagga and 6 hours' drive from Sydney and 2 hours to Canberra. Temora has a Country Link Bus to Cootamundra with forwarding links to Sydney and Melbourne.  Wagga Wagga airport is also easily accessible.
