'The YES results are a testament to the person focused care provided by the teams within the Far West LHD MHDA directorate, and the dedication staff show even during the most difficult circumstances to support each consumer to achieve the best outcome possible,' said Ms Jodie Miller, Program Director MHDA.
'I believe the FWLHD MHDA teams rank so consistently well among the people who access services is due to the therapeutic relationships and therapeutic alliances that are formed between consumers and those who are entrusted with their care. The focus on individual recovery and wellness is also important, empowering consumers to drive their own recovery,' said Ms Miller.
She added this is the second year running the FWLHD has been ranked number one in NSW by the people who use their services. In 2018/2019 overall 88% of consumers rated their experience to be 'very good' or 'excellent'. The 2% drop in consumer satisfaction for 2019/2020 may be related to the change in service provision due to COVID-19.
Ms Miller said the surveys are the voice of consumers of Far West LHD MHDA Services and it is gratifying to be rated so highly.
'YES surveys are also a sign post to where we can improve our services and the 23 questions covering six domains serve to point us to areas where we can further improve in our service provision, to provide the best possible outcomes for people accessing mental health care in the Far West.'
