Two New Parent Groups for Networking and Information Sharing
Parents of babies and toddlers are being invited to connect with others at two new parenting groups to start next month organised by the Far West Local Health District's Child and Family Health Service.
Two groups will be held and each will run for six weeks.
The first - Coffee Club - will start on Monday, 2 November 2020 at 9.30am and be for children aged 7 months to 3-4 years old. It will be held in Patton Street Park each Monday thereafter.
This is aimed at those who missed out during COVID-19 from meeting and networking with parents of similar-aged children and also those who are new to town.
'This group is focussed on networking with other mums who feel isolated,' said Katrina Ware, Registered Nurse, Child and Family Health Services at Broken Hill Community Health Centre.
'We may have guest speakers such as dental health services and the lead program, but it is mainly for friendship building,' she said.
The second group - New Parent Group - will start on Friday, 6 November 2020 at 9.30am and be held at the Broken Hill University of Rural Health auditorium 2, each Friday thereafter.
This group is aimed at the 6 week to 6 month old babies and will feature guest speakers, such as dietitians, physiotherapists, lead program, speech pathologists and Tresillian.
'We are very excited to begin these two groups we are running and hope that parents and their babies can join us,' said Ms Ware.

The public is also advised that the Broken Hill Maternity MAMs (mums and midwives) group will recommence in February, 2021.
