Parents and carers of school-aged children enrolled in an approved sport or fitness activity can receive a $100 voucher to cover registration and participation costs for that calendar year.

Parents are able to apply for and download their vouchers from the Service NSW website

Sports Minister Stuart Ayres said the rebate is going to make a difference to many families.

"This program means that every child in the state has the opportunity to be fit and active in their community,” Mr Ayres said.

“Active kids are healthy kids and as long as their program is more than eight weeks long and involves a moderate to strong degree of movement — it will qualify.”

Each child is eligible to receive one voucher every year for the next four years.

Of the 250,000 vouchers that have been downloaded in the first 10 days of the program's launch, more than 100,000 vouchers have been redeemed.

The program supports the Premier’s Priority to reduce childhood overweight and obesity by increasing participation in sport and changing physical activity behaviours of children and young people in NSW.
