Wollongong hosts A-League match
Fans will see Sydney FC play Newcastle Jets in round 15 on 3 January 2015 (kick off 7.30pm).
The A-League All Starswill also prepare for their match against Italian Serie A champions, Juventus FC, with a 6-day training camp at WIN Stadium in August.
WIN’s soccer pedigree is already extensive and includes competitive games by the Matildas and Young Socceroos, as well as pre-season trials, NSW Premier League and community-level games.
Minister for the Illawarra John Ajaka said Sydney FC’s decision to bring a ‘home’ game to Wollongong was a fantastic boost for the stadium and for the code locally.
“With crowd numbers growing every season for the A League, there will be a fantastic atmosphere on 3 January, and I encourage everyone to support this fixture and give Sydney FC all the home ground advantage they can,” Mr Ajaka said.
