Proactive release register

Proactive release is the release of information by an agency, in an appropriate manner and free of charge (or at lowest reasonable cost).

Agencies are encouraged to go beyond the minimum mandatory disclosure requirement, unless there is an overriding public interest against disclosure.

The Department of Customer Service (DCS) maintains the Data.NSW open portal, a secure platform and resources to support NSW Government agencies to share their data. DCS agencies regularly publish their own datasets using this portal.

DCS also proactively releases a wide range of information via the websites of its various agencies and functions, including those listed below.
