Webcams for coastal bars and alpine waters
Live webcam vision of coastal bars and alpine waters to help boaters and skippers prepare for a safe trip.
Plan ahead
Transport for NSW has webcam vision of coastal bars and alpine waters to help boaters and skippers prepare for a safe crossing.
There are many factors to consider when making a safe bar crossing. Plan ahead by checking local conditions. Then 'If in doubt, don't go out'.
Lifejackets and safety equipment
Everyone on board must wear a lifejacket at all times when crossing coastal bars.
Inflatable lifejackets must be serviced every 12 months or according to the manufacturer's requirements.
Make sure you have the necessary safety equipment, and that everyone on board knows where the safety equipment is and how to use it, and what to do in an emergency or incident.
