About Brunswick Heads coastal bar

Brunswick River is 7 miles north-north-westward of Cape Byron. The entrance is protected by breakwaters on either side and a boat harbour used by fishing trawlers is provided upstream on the southern side of the middle arm of the river.

The entrance is narrow and dangerous and depths vary continually. Entry should not be attempted without local knowledge.
