Mulwala Bridge - Maintenance works

The Works
Vessel operators are advised that Transport for NSW will be undertaking bridge maintenance works on the Mulwala Bridge, located on Lake Mulwala, at Mulwala commencing Monday, 18 March 2024 continuing to mid May 2024.
Navigation Warning
The bridge maintenance works will involve the mobilisation and placement of barges, which will be positioned under the various bridge trusses at different times throughout the duration of the works.
Affected bridge spans will be temporarily closed to navigation and will be marked by signage and yellow special mark aqua buoys with flashing yellow lights displayed between dusk and dawn.
All vessel operators in the vicinity of the works should exercise caution, keep a proper lookout, remain a minimum of 30 metres from any active barge or construction works, comply with any buoyage and signage and ‘minimise wash’ in the vicinity of the bridge.

Directions
Vessels are required to maintain a safe distance and speed from the works and operators are reminded that the production of wash which impacts unreasonably on the works is an offence (Marine Safety Regulation 2016 – clause 11(2) - Maximum Penalty $5,500.00).
Vessels and persons are required to remain beyond 30 metres of the site. Failure to comply is an offence (Marine Safety Regulation 2016, cl 30(1) – Maximum Penalty $11,000).
