The Works
Transport for NSW advises that Eptec will be conducting rehabilitation works to spans 2 and 3 of the Peats Ferry Bridge, which spans the Hawkesbury River in the vicinity of Kangaroo Point, (as per the attached maps) from Friday, 20 October 2023 until Tuesday, 3 June 2025.
Navigation Warning
Due to the potential to affect the safety of navigation and to facilitate the required bridge works, affected bridge spans will be temporarily closed to navigation and will be indicated by channel blocked shapes and lights, yellow lit marks and port and starboard lit markers.
The navigable channel (Span 2 of M1 bridge) will be relocated to Span 5 at various times throughout the works.
Vessel operators are advised to exercise extreme caution when navigating in the vicinity of the works, keep a proper lookout, comply with all markers, buoyage and signage and pay particular attention to vessel speed (6 knots within 30m of the bridge spans) and to minimise vessel wash near all working areas.
Directions
Persons within the vicinity of the works must comply with any directions given by any Boating Safety Officer or Police Officer in relation to marine safety. Failure to comply with any such direction is an offence (Marine Safety Act 1998, s.15A - Maximum Penalty $3,300.00).
Vessels are required to maintain a safe distance and speed from the works and operators are reminded that the production of wash which impacts unreasonably on the works is an offence (Marine Safety Regulation 2016 – clause 11(2) - Maximum Penalty $5,500.00).
