Students will learn to think critically when consuming content online.

NSW teachers - please ensure if you are logged into YouTube using your DoE login that you turn off restricted mode. This will allow you to watch YouTube Live and access Thrive Online's virtual classroom.

An age-appropriate & engaging 30-minute live stream incursion for years 5 – 6, hosted by experienced teachers Marty & Laura. They’ll be opening up important conversations about the need to be a critical consumer online. Students will be immersed in realistic scenarios and have the opportunity to interact through Kahoot quizzing! 

Students will learn to:

  • think critically

  • be aware and clever consumers online 

It is recommended that students have devices at the ready with Kahoot open and ready to join. Students should join in pairs or small groups and not play individually.

ICT capabilities

Students apply appropriate practices to recognise the intellectual property for digital information of themselves and others. They use appropriate practices for the physical and logical storage and security of digital information, and apply appropriate protocols when using ICT to safely create, communicate or share information. Students gain an understanding of the benefits and consequences of the use of ICT by individuals, groups and communities and the impact of the use of ICT on the fabric of society. In developing and acting with ICT capability, students:

  • recognise intellectual property
  • apply digital information security practices
  • apply personal security protocols
  • identify the impacts of ICT in society.
