All non-government schools are required to produce, publicly disclose and submit electronically to NESA a 2023 annual report by Sunday 30 June 2024.
In September 2023, NESA published amended registration Manuals which took effect 1 January 2024.
This year, schools must submit a 2023 annual report to NESA based on:
- the previous reporting requirements as detailed in sections 3.10.1 (individual schools) or 5.10.1 (system schools) of the Manual (published November 2021).
Note: if this option is chosen, the new reporting requirements must be in place for the 2024 annual school report submitted in 2025.
OR
- the new reporting requirements as detailed in section B2.7 of the Manual (published September 2023).
Annual reporting requirements are detailed in section B2.7 of the:
- NSW Registered and Accredited Individual Non-government Schools Manual
- NSW Registration Systems and Member Non-government Schools Manual.
NESA’s review of the annual reports submitted in 2023 found that the following areas commonly required improvement:
- student attendance rates for the whole school
- trends in student HSC performance.
Schools should consider these areas for improvement in finalising their reports for the 2023 school year.
Submission of annual reports is via NESA’s registration website RANGS Online.
