Training Contracts for Trainee Apprentices with a training commencement date on or before 31 December 2017 may continue to be lodged with Training Services NSW up to 31 January 2018. All requests lodged after this date will be refused.
Training Contracts may be varied from an apprenticeship to a trainee apprenticeship if the change in IR arrangements occurred on or before 31 December 2017 and the request is lodged with Training Services NSW by 31 January 2018.
Training Contracts for trainee apprentices may continue to be transferred between employers after 31 January 2018 as a trainee apprentice.
Training Contracts for trainee apprentices may be cancelled and re-established as a trainee apprenticeship as long as the new training commencement date is on or before 31 December 2017 and the request is received by 31 January 2018. Requests after this date must be for re-establishment of an apprenticeship.
Note: Existing trainee apprentices and new apprentices approved after 31 January 2018 may continue to be employed as a trainee apprentice subject to award provisions. The decision to remove trainee apprenticeship provisions only impacts the training arrangement, not the employment arrangement.
