Get mental health support after a flood
Living through a natural disaster like a flood can be very challenging. It is normal for people to react in different ways.
Looking after your mental health is as important as looking after your physical wellbeing.
There are many services that can help if you need support or someone to talk to:
- Lifeline Crisis Support – free, confidential counselling anytime if you are feeling overwhelmed or are having trouble coping: call 131 114, text 0477 131 114 or chat online. They also have resources to help you recover after a natural disaster
- Kids Helpline – free, confidential counselling anytime for young people aged 5 to 25: call 1800 551 800, chat online or email. They also have information to help young people cope with natural disasters
- Mensline – free, confidential counselling services for men: call 1300 789 978 or use online or video chat
- NSW Mental Health Line – professional help, advice and referrals to local mental health services: 1800 011 511
