If you are experiencing financial difficulty and stress, there are free financial and legal services available to support you with advice.
Financial support resources
Financial counsellors provide free, independent and confidential advice to help you manage your debts or negotiate with creditors.
- Visit the National Debt Helpline website for step-by-step guides and useful information on how to manage specific types of debts or call 1800 007 007.
- The Australian Government’s Moneysmart website offers free tools, tips and guidance to help you take control of your money and improve your financial wellbeing.
- Call the Mob Strong Debt helpline on 1800 808 488 for free legal advice about money matters for First Nations Peoples.

- LawAccess NSW is a free government telephone service that provides legal information, referrals and in some cases, advice for people who have a legal problem in NSW. Call 1300 888 529.

Support for First Nations Peoples
We provide culturally safe services to help First Nations Peoples get on track with debt. If you identify as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander origin, we encourage you to let us know, so we can provide you with the support and services that are right for you. Note support is currently only available for fines, not unpaid fees.
