About the project
A network of 56 new and co-located fixed wireless towers will boost internet services for more than 11,000 homes and businesses across regional NSW.
As part of a $50 million agreement between the NSW Government and NBN Co, 46 communities in rural, remote and coastal locations will receive improved connectivity that provides:
- more choice of internet service providers
- better pricing
- faster download speeds
- increased reliability – making it easier to work remotely and access online services.
Through the project, small communities, and the areas outside of townships, will be able to connect to metropolitan grade internet, helping to reduce the reliance on satellite services.
The agreement is part of the $60 million grant funding opportunity announced in 2022.
