NSW Minerals Council
2023 NSW Minerals Council Regional Woman of the Year Award

Women in leadership positions and at mine sites across NSW are making an important contribution to a successful NSW mining industry.
With strong commitments and actions to support the environment, and experienced professionals finding smarter ways of doing things, in NSW we are responsibly mining the minerals and metals needed for modern life.
NSW has long been known for its high quality coal deposits which are in high demand and are exported to 29 countries globally. NSW also has a strong and growing minerals mining sector with world-class operations, and high quality deposits of gold, copper, silver, nickel, lead, zinc, cobalt and more.
As an industry, we are proud to offer well-paid, satisfying career opportunities to women in regional NSW, often without the need to leave local communities. An increasing number of women in our mining workforce are also excelling in non-traditional roles such as engineering, geology, surveying, trades and more.
The NSW Women of the Year Awards are an important way to recognise women across a variety of professions, industries and organisations adding value to our economy and helping to build communities, just as in mining communities across NSW.
As sponsors of the NSW Regional Woman of the Year Award, we’re proud to celebrate women excelling in our regions, because diverse businesses are better businesses.
