Accreditation of Professional Development Courses Policy
7. Cancellation of course accreditation
NESA may cancel the accreditation of a course at any point during the accreditation period, or at the point of renewal, if:
- serious and substantiated complaints are raised by teachers, an early childhood service, school/sector leaders, teacher representative organisations or other relevant stakeholders; and/or
- a provider of a NESA Accredited PD course fails to comply with one or more of the provider responsibilities (Section 9.1 or 9.1.1 as applicable); and/or
- the Chief Executive Officer of the entity is found not to be a fit and proper person; and/or
- a quality or compliance issue is identified through:
- findings from a NESA review, investigation of a written complaint or audit of a course
- online evaluation data provided by teachers following completion of a course.
If a provider fails to comply with one or more of its responsibilities, NESA will advise the provider in writing of the issue/s. The provider will have 30 days from the date of their notice to address the identified issue/s. If the provider does not respond or fails to address the identified issue/s by the end of the 30 days, NESA will cancel the accreditation of the course and remove the course from the published list of NESA Accredited PD.
Authorised Providers listed in Section 4.1.1 may cancel the accreditation of any NESA Accredited PD course they offer for any reason.
