Our vision and mission
Our aim is to remove barriers to investment and lower the cost and time of setting up in regional NSW.
To do this, we develop world-class, sustainable, economic precincts in partnership with:
- government, including federal, local and state agencies
- private sector businesses and industry groups
- research institutes
- vocational education and training providers.
We enable investment and support businesses through:
- government-funded infrastructure
- streamlined planning and approvals
- Investment facilitation
- business support including concierge services
These precincts are part of the 20-year Economic Vision for Regional NSW. We work with the Snowy Hydro Legacy Fund and the Department of Planning to fund and plan them.

These precincts are dedicated hubs that support local industries and attract business and investors to create jobs and fuel regional economic development.

Special Activation Precincts are about making it easier and more attractive for businesses to set up in regional NSW, create more jobs, and grow our regional engine industries such as freight and logistics, renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, agribusiness, tourism, hospitality and defence.
The Parkes precinct covers 4,800 hectares and provides road and rail access to 80 per cent of Australia’s markets within 12 hours. This is due to the Inland Rail and the Trans-Australian Railway junction.

The Wagga Wagga precinct covers an area of 4,500 hectares, including the Bomen Business Park.
This precinct incorporates the Riverina Intermodal Freight and Logistics Hub (RiFL). This provides greater domestic and international growth opportunities for businesses and investors in the region.

The Moree precinct covers 4,716 hectares in Australia’s most productive grain region. With a strong agricultural economy, it builds on its connection to Country and sustainable water endowments.

The Williamtown precinct aims to create a defence and aerospace hub. It will create highly-skilled, long-term job opportunities to strengthen the region’s economy.

The precinct will access the Inland Rail, the Narrabri West Walgett Railway line, and the proposed Narrabri Industrial and Logistics Hub
