Privacy at NESA
NESA has a responsibility to protect the privacy of its stakeholders. Learn how NESA protects personal and other sensitive information.
NESA has a legal obligation to maintain the privacy of students, teachers and parents when dealing with their personal information.
The Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (PPIP Act)and the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (HRIP Act) outline how NESA must comply with the:
- Information Protection Principles (IPPs) in the PPIP Act
- Health Privacy Principles (HPPs) in the HRIP Act.
These laws regulate the collection, storage, use and disclosure of personal and health information held by NSW government agencies.
Any personal or health information collected from you by NESA will be used or disclosed only for the purpose of NESA exercising its functions, or for directly related purposes.
This is unless:
- you consent to another use or the disclosure of your information, or
- disclosure is required or permitted by law.
Survey Monkey privacy statement
Survey Monkey is a third-party software supplier that NESA sometimes uses for online research and development surveys. The use of this application supports NESA in exercising its functions.
Survey Monkey use third-party cookies. The information collected by these cookies cannot identify you and is only used to ensure NESA's surveys run smoothly.
By using Survey Monkey, you understand and consent that this information may be hosted overseas and subject to laws outside Australia.
Responding to a survey is optional and you don't have to provide personal information if you don't want to. You can use a pseudonym or a different name to keep your identity private when using Survey Monkey. You can also choose to use a printable version of the survey which can be posted or emailed to NESA.
NESA will only use the information collected from the surveys in accordance with this Survey Monkey privacy statement.
