Bayside, Brunswick Heads temporary housing village
The temporary housing village established in Bayside, Brunswick Heads, is being decommissioned in 2025.
About the site
The Bayside site is located on Torakina Road and Kingsford Drive on Council and privately owned land.
The site hosts 27 dwellings and has been in operation since March 2023.
The Bayside site has supported many residents on their recovery journey by providing temporary housing following the 2022 floods.
As part of the agreed funding arrangements with the Australian Government, and with the site lease coming to an end, Bayside Village is being decommissioned in 2025.
Residents are being supported to transition into alternative housing by 27 June.
Following this, the site will be handed over to NSW Public Works to begin remediation works, ahead of its scheduled return to the landowner by the end of 2025.
